Primary intention = clean, sutured. Secondary = open, granulation. Tertiary = delayed primary closure. Phases: Hemostasis → Inflammation → Proliferation → Remodeling. Collagen type III → replaced by type I.
Absorbable = Vicryl (most common), Catgut. Non-absorbable = Silk (most common), Nylon. 3-0 to 5-0 = most used in oral surgery. Cutting needle = skin/oral mucosa. Round needle = internal organs.
T1 = <2cm. T2 = 2-4cm. T3 = >4cm. T4 = invasion of adjacent structures. N0 = no nodes. N1 = single ipsilateral <3cm. Radical neck dissection = remove all 5 structures. Modified = spare 1+ structures.
Split thickness = epidermis + part dermis (more contracture, better take). Full thickness = epidermis + full dermis (less contracture). Pedicled flap = maintains blood supply. Free flap = microsurgical transfer.
